About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Cloudflare Developer to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 4 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a remote role that will be based in Leeds or London.

We are seeking an experienced Cloudflare Developer to design, build, and maintain scalable web applications on the Cloudflare Developer Platform. The successful candidate will develop and deploy serverless applications using Cloudflare Workers, Pages, D1, KV, R2, Durable Objects, and associated cloud-native services. The role requires strong full-stack development skills and experience building highly performant, globally distributed applications.
 
Responsibilities
 
  • Design and build full-stack web applications using Cloudflare Workers and Pages.
  • Develop secure REST and GraphQL APIs running on Cloudflare's edge network.
  • Build frontend applications using frameworks such as React, Next.js, Vue, Astro, or Svelte.
  • Design and implement data solutions using D1, KV, Durable Objects, and R2.
  • Implement authentication, authorization, and API security controls.
  • Create CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes using Wrangler and GitHub Actions.
  • Optimize application performance, scalability, and resilience across global edge locations.
  • Integrate AI capabilities using Workers AI, Vectorize, and related services where appropriate.
  • Monitor applications and troubleshoot production issues using Cloudflare observability tools

About You

  • Delivered one or more production applications primarily hosted on Cloudflare.
  • Deep expertise with Cloudflare Workers and edge computing concepts.
  • Experience implementing stateful applications using Durable Objects.
  • Production experience with D1, KV, and/or R2.
  • Strong understanding of Cloudflare's serverless ecosystem and architecture patterns.
  • Experience debugging and monitoring applications deployed across Cloudflare's global network.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience designing distributed systems.
  • Understanding of application security best practices.
