About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Business Analyst to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is an initial 6 month contract opportunity with strong extension potential and will be a hybrid role based in Manchester or Glasgow.

Our client is seeking a Business Analyst to support a portfolio of Workplace transformation projects focused on data, reporting and analytics. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, data teams and engineers to source, analyse and define data requirements, enabling the creation of dashboards and reporting solutions that support both internal teams and external advisers and employers. The role will play a key part in improving data availability, governance and reporting capabilities across the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Gather, analyse and document business and data requirements for workplace reporting and analytics initiatives.
  • Source and validate data from enterprise data platforms using Databricks to support dashboard development and reporting needs.
  • Work with Power BI developers and engineers to deliver meaningful visualisations and performance dashboards.
  • Identify data gaps and define requirements for new data ingestion, transformation and lineage processes.
  • Create detailed business requirements and process improvement backlogs to support data platform enhancements and regulatory reporting. 

About You

  • Proven experience working as a Business Analyst on data, reporting or business intelligence projects.
  • Strong knowledge of data analysis, data mapping and requirements gathering techniques.
  • Experience working with enterprise data platforms and large-scale datasets.
  • Exposure to Power BI, Databricks and data warehousing or analytics environments.
  • Experience collaborating with data engineers, developers and business stakeholders to deliver reporting solutions.
  • Understanding of data governance, lineage and data quality principles.
  • Previous experience within Financial Services, Pensions or Wealth Management environments would be highly advantageous.
  • Minimum 8+ years' experience as a Business Analyst delivering data and reporting-focused transformation initiatives.
