About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Grafana Consultant to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 3 - month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Leeds.

We are seeking an experienced Grafana Consultant to support the design, implementation, and optimisation of enterprise monitoring and observability solutions for our client. The successful candidate will have strong expertise in Grafana, data visualisation, monitoring platforms, and observability practices, enabling organisations to gain actionable insights from complex environments.

You will work closely with architects, engineers, DevOps teams, and stakeholders to deliver dashboards, reporting, alerting strategies, and monitoring solutions across cloud, on-premise, and hybrid infrastructures.
 
Responsibilities
 
  • Design, develop, and maintain Grafana dashboards, visualisations, and reporting solutions.
  • Gather monitoring and reporting requirements from technical and business stakeholders.
  • Integrate Grafana with data sources such as Prometheus, Loki, Elasticsearch, InfluxDB, SQL databases, Azure
  • Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, and other observability platforms.
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, and performance management solutions.
  • Configure and optimise metrics collection across infrastructure, applications, and cloud environments.
  • Support the implementation of enterprise observability frameworks and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot monitoring, dashboard, and performance-related issues.
  • Work alongside DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, and Infrastructure teams to improve service reliability and operational performance.
  • Produce technical documentation, design artefacts, and operational runbooks.

About You

  • Proven experience implementing and administering Grafana in enterprise environments.
    Strong knowledge of monitoring and observability principles.
  • Experience creating complex dashboards, alerts, and visualisations.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure monitoring across Linux and Windows environments.
  • Experience supporting cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong scripting capability using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into meaningful monitoring and reporting solutions.
