About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Business Analyst to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with the chance to extend and will be a hybrid role based in one of various locations across the UK such as Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Liverpool or Bristol.
 

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to support a major transformation programme. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of gathering and documenting complex business requirements, facilitating senior stakeholder workshops, mapping business processes and driving delivery across business and technology teams. This is a hands-on Business Analyst role requiring strong analytical capabilities and experience delivering change within complex environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead requirements elicitation activities with business and technical stakeholders.
  •  Produce high-quality BA artefacts including BRDs, functional specifications, user stories, acceptance criteria and process maps.
  • Conduct As-Is and To-Be process analysis and identify opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Facilitate workshops and stakeholder meetings to agree requirements, scope and priorities.
  • Perform gap analysis, impact assessments and business readiness activities.
  • Work closely with Product Owners, Project Managers, Developers and Test teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support UAT planning, execution and defect resolution.
  • Ensure solutions align with business objectives, governance requirements and delivery timelines.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships up to senior management level.
  • Support implementation and transition into business-as-usual operations.

About You

  • Minimum 10+ years' experience as a Business Analyst with at least 2+ years as a Senior Business Analyst.
  • Recent hands-on Business Analysis experience within the last 2 years.
  • Demonstrable experience producing:
  1. Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
  2. Functional Requirements
  3. User Stories
  4. Acceptance Criteria
  5. Process Maps
  6. Gap Analysis Documentation
  • Experience delivering end-to-end change or transformation programmes.
  •  Strong stakeholder management experience with senior business and technology stakeholders.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
  • Experience using Jira and Confluence.
  • Strong workshop facilitation and requirements gathering skills.
  • Experience supporting UAT activities and business readiness.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience leading a team
