About The Role

This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy delivering client and industry driven solutions through our 5 core specialist Practices; Software Engineering, Data & Analytics, IT Operations, Change & Transformation, and Risk, Regulation & Compliance.

FDM is seeking a Business Analyst located in Charlotte to support a project in the financial sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 24 months but may be extended.

This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 4 days per week.

Business Analyst – Capital Markets

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support large-scale initiatives within a Capital Markets environment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of fixed income products, derivatives, and trading operations, coupled with excellent analytical and stakeholder management skills. This role will partner closely with business and technology teams to drive requirements gathering, solution design, and successful program delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Gather, document, and manage business and functional requirements for Capital Markets initiatives.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and project managers to deliver strategic programs.
  • Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for optimization and automation.
  • Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications for development teams.
  • Support Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and user story development.
  • Perform data analysis and validation using SQL.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder discussions across business and technology teams.
  • Assist with testing, issue resolution, and implementation activities.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Business Analysis experience.
  • Strong Capital Markets domain expertise.
  • Experience with fixed income products, bonds, and derivatives.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Hands-on SQL experience, including data analysis and validation.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to engage effectively with both business stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting large-scale regulatory, technology, or transformation programs.
  • Background working with investment banking, trading, or capital markets operations teams.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and other Agile toolsets.
