About The Role

This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.

FDM is seeking a Senior RPA Developer / Solution Architect located in Boston to support a project in the Financial Services sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 12 month period but may be extended.

This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 3 days per week.

About You

Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior RPA Developer / Solution Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise automation solutions. This role requires deep expertise across the full RPA and Intelligent Automation ecosystem, with the ability to understand how multiple automation products integrate to deliver scalable business outcomes.

The successful candidate will combine strong hands-on development skills with solution architecture expertise, taking ownership of automation initiatives from discovery through delivery and production support.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Architecture

  • Design end-to-end automation solutions leveraging the organization's full suite of RPA and Intelligent Automation products.
  • Define scalable, secure, and maintainable automation architectures.
  • Assess business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Ensure all automation components integrate effectively across platforms, applications, and business processes.
  • Develop architecture standards, design patterns, and best practices.

Development & Technical Leadership

  • Lead the development of complex RPA solutions and reusable automation components.
  • Provide hands-on expertise across automation technologies, APIs, integrations, and workflow design.
  • Conduct code reviews and enforce development standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the automation estate.
  • Mentor junior and mid-level developers, promoting engineering excellence.

Product Expertise

  • Maintain a deep understanding of the organization's full automation technology stack.
  • Understand how RPA, workflow orchestration, AI, document processing, analytics, and integration platforms work together.
  • Advise stakeholders on product selection and optimal solution design.
  • Identify opportunities to expand automation capabilities across the business.

Ownership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Take ownership of automation solutions throughout their lifecycle.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and technology teams to ensure successful delivery.
  • Provide technical leadership during project planning, estimation, and execution.
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and automation adoption.

Required Skills & Experience

Technical Expertise

  • Extensive experience designing and developing enterprise RPA solutions.
  • Strong understanding of automation architecture, integration patterns, and system design.
  • Experience across multiple RPA technologies and automation products.
  • Proficiency in software development principles and best practices.
  • Experience working with APIs, web services, databases, and enterprise applications.
  • Strong understanding of cloud and enterprise technology environments.

Architecture & Leadership

  • Proven experience acting as a Solution Architect or Technical Lead.
  • Ability to create technical architecture documentation and solution designs.
  • Experience leading technical discussions with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
  • Strong collaboration skills across business and technology teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Intelligent Automation, AI, and Document Processing technologies.
  • Relevant RPA and Solution Architecture certifications.
  • Experience within large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Financial services, insurance, or highly regulated industry experience is advantageous.

Location Requirement: Candidates must be based in, or willing to work from, the Boston area.
