About The Role

This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy delivering client and industry driven solutions through our 5 core specialist Practices; Software Engineering, Data & Analytics, IT Operations, Change & Transformation, and Risk, Regulation & Compliance.

FDM is seeking a Finance Organizational Change & Transformation Lead located in Houston to support a project in the Energy sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 12 months but may be extended.

This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 3 days per week.

About You

About the Role
We're hiring a hands-on Change & Transformation Lead to drive a major Finance Transformation program covering changes to technology, processes, roles and ways of working. You'll work with senior leaders, but the work itself is yours. You'll build the change plan, run the stakeholder analysis in Excel, write the communications and facilitate the workshops. You'll also see the rollout through to adoption. As priorities change, you'll also lead other Finance initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • Build and run change management plans for Finance transformation initiatives, including impact assessments, readiness checks and adoption plans.
  • Analyze detailed employee and organizational data to identify and segment the people affected, find subject-matter experts and champions, and decide who needs training.
  • Facilitate workshops and working sessions with Finance leaders, Global Process Owners, subject-matter experts and technology teams.
  • Write targeted communications: emails, FAQs, leader talking points and executive-ready updates.
  • Partner with training and program teams on readiness, go-live, hypercare and long-term adoption.
  • Lead smaller Finance projects when needed, covering scope, plans, risk and issue logs (RAID), status reporting and escalations.

Key Competencies

  • Hands-on execution: You do the detailed work yourself rather than delegating it or only advising on it.
  • Analytical curiosity: You look for patterns, gaps and what they mean in the data, not just what the numbers say on the surface.
  • Linking change to the business: You connect people, processes, technology and data to real business outcomes.
  • Pragmatism: You use change and project methods as tools, and the methodology never becomes the goal.
  • Stakeholder judgment: You know when to bring in senior leaders, when to work directly with subject-matter experts, and when to do more analysis before escalating.
  • Adaptability: You move easily between change management, analysis, communications, facilitation and project management, depending on what the work needs.
  • Ownership: You see what needs doing and drive it to completion without waiting for detailed direction.
  • Clear communication: You turn complex transformation detail into practical messages for each audience.
  • Comfort with ambiguity: You create structure and make progress when information is incomplete or ownership is unclear.

What Success Looks Like

  • The people affected by each change are accurately identified, segmented and understood.
  • Change impacts become clear actions across communications, training, readiness and deployment.
  • Finance leaders and employees know what is changing, when it will reach them and what they need to do.
  • The right subject-matter experts and stakeholders are involved at the right points in the program.
  • Program decisions are based on reliable data about stakeholders, impacts, readiness and adoption.
  • Change activities are built into the overall transformation plan rather than running as a separate track.
  • Risks to readiness and adoption are spotted early and addressed with practical interventions.
  • New Finance processes and technology are adopted and stay in use after go-live.
  • New Finance initiatives can be picked up, structured and moved forward quickly.

What You Bring

  • 5–10 years in organizational change management, business transformation, project management or business analysis.
  • Hands-on change management experience on at least one major ERP, technology or operating-model transformation.
  • Strong Excel skills: you can reconcile, analyze and segment large datasets and turn them into recommendations.
  • Experience running stakeholder analysis and impact assessments, and facilitating workshops.
  • Clear writing, whether it's detailed working documents or concise executive summaries.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the drive to deliver with limited direction.

Nice to Have

  • Finance Transformation, Global Business Services (GBS) or Shared Services experience.
  • SAP S/4HANA, Oracle or similar ERP experience.
  • Knowledge of core Finance processes: Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, FP&A or financial close.
  • Prosci/ADKAR certification, PMP certification or Power BI skills.
