About The Role

This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy delivering client and industry driven solutions through our 5 core specialist Practices; Software Engineering, Data & Analytics, IT Operations, Change & Transformation, and Risk, Regulation & Compliance.

FDM is seeking a Business Analyst located in Boston to support a project in the Financial Services sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 12 months but may be extended.

This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 3 days per week.

About You

Overview

We are seeking a Business Analyst to support digital transformation, automation, and AI-driven initiatives across the organization. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, developers, solution architects, and product teams to identify opportunities, define requirements, and deliver technology solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.

This individual should be well versed in Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, and intelligent automation technologies, with the ability to translate emerging AI capabilities into practical business solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering

  • Gather, document, and validate business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and discovery sessions.
  • Develop user stories, process maps, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
  • Analyze current-state processes and define future-state solutions.

AI & Intelligent Automation

  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI, Generative AI, RPA, and automation technologies to improve business processes.
  • Work with technical teams to define AI use cases, requirements, and success metrics.
  • Assess business value, risks, and implementation considerations for AI solutions.
  • Support the deployment and adoption of AI-enabled tools and workflows.
  • Stay informed on emerging AI trends and technologies and recommend innovative applications.

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the liaison between business and technology teams.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple functions.
  • Support change management and user adoption activities.

Delivery & Collaboration

  • Work closely with developers, solution architects, and project managers to ensure successful delivery.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
  • Support UAT planning, execution, and defect resolution.
  • Ensure delivered solutions meet business requirements and expected outcomes.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3-5 years of Business Analysis experience in technology, automation, transformation, or change initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, Machine Learning, and Intelligent Automation concepts.
  • Experience defining requirements for AI, automation, data, or technology projects.
  • Proven ability to map business processes and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with Microsoft Copilot, OpenAI, Azure AI Services, or similar AI platforms.
  • Exposure to RPA technologies such as UiPath, Blue Prism, or Automation Anywhere.
  • Experience supporting AI proof-of-concepts, pilots, or enterprise implementations.
  • Financial Services, Insurance, Healthcare, or other regulated industry experience.
  • CBAP, CCBA, Agile, or AI-related certifications.

  • Produces clear, actionable requirements that enable successful implementation.
  • Acts as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on the practical application of AI.
  • Bridges the gap between business objectives and technical delivery teams.
  • Takes ownership of workstreams and drives projects from discovery through implementation.
