About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Linux Endpoint Engineer to work for our client within the Higher Education sector. This is initially a 2 month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a predominantly remote role with 1 day per week on site that will be based in London.
 
Our client is seeking an experienced Linux Endpoint Engineer to support the delivery of a managed security operations project. This hands-on technical role focuses on integrating Linux endpoint management and security technologies across the organisation's environment. You will work closely with existing technical teams to accelerate delivery, implement robust endpoint management capabilities, produce documentation and transfer knowledge to ensure the solution can be effectively supported after the engagement concludes.
 
Responsibilities: 
 
  • Configure and manage Linux desktop and endpoint devices using Microsoft Intune.
  • Deploy and maintain Microsoft Defender for Endpoint across Linux desktop environments.
  • Integrate Linux endpoint management and security tooling into a cohesive solution.
  • Produce clear technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams.
  • Collaborate with Linux, security and endpoint specialists to support project delivery and device onboarding. 

About You

  • Demonstrable hands-on experience supporting Linux desktop or endpoint environments rather than primarily Linux server administration.
  • Proven experience enrolling, configuring and managing Linux endpoint devices through Microsoft Intune.
  • Strong practical experience deploying and configuring Microsoft Defender for Endpoint on Linux devices.
  • Experience working with Ubuntu and Red Hat Linux distributions and implementing endpoint security controls.
  • Desirable: Experience with Qualys VMDR or a comparable vulnerability management platform and broader Microsoft endpoint security services.
