About The Role

This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.

FDM is seeking a production support engineer located in Plano, TX to support a project in the financial sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 24 months but may be extended.

This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 3 days per week.

Production Support Engineer

Overview

We are seeking a Production Support Engineer to join a fast-paced technology team responsible for supporting critical enterprise applications and infrastructure. This role will focus on production stability, deployment coordination, platform support, automation, infrastructure management, and incident resolution. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting large-scale production environments and working across multiple teams to ensure seamless application availability and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide production support for mission-critical applications and services.
  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot incidents, and drive issue resolution to minimize downtime.
  • Coordinate and support application releases, deployments, and cutover activities.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative measures for recurring issues.
  • Manage and support infrastructure-as-code and automation initiatives.
  • Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and business teams during production events and releases.
  • Support application onboarding, configuration management, and platform maintenance.
  • Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and support procedures.
  • Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Production Support, Application Support, Site Reliability Engineering, or related technical roles.
  • Strong experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Hands-on experience with ATaaS.
  • Experience working with TSO and TSSA environments.
  • Strong knowledge of production release management and cutover processes.
  • Experience with JFrog Artifactory and artifact management.
  • Experience troubleshooting complex production issues across distributed systems.
  • Strong understanding of Linux/Unix environments.
  • Familiarity with automation and DevOps best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale financial services applications.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms and modern DevOps tooling.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and release orchestration.
  • Knowledge of monitoring, observability, and incident management tools.
  • Experience supporting highly available, customer-facing applications.
