About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an AI Governance Lead to work for our client within the insurance sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with good prospects to extend and is a remote role.

Our client is seeking an experienced AI Governance Lead to support the implementation and ongoing operation of its AI governance controls. The successful candidate will help transition the AI governance framework into business-as-usual operations, ensuring AI use cases are appropriately assessed, governed, evidenced and monitored throughout their lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

  • Operationalise the AI governance framework, policies, procedures, approval routes and evidence requirements.
  • Establish and maintain the AI inventory, use-case inventory, risk classifications and lifecycle governance checkpoints.
  •  Coordinate AI governance forums and use-case reviews across business, data, technology, cyber security, privacy, legal, procurement, compliance and audit stakeholders.
  •  Maintain governance reporting, management information, decision logs, approvals, exceptions, actions and audit-ready evidence.
  •  Oversee ongoing monitoring for performance, security, accuracy, model drift, misuse and policy compliance, coordinating escalation and remediation where required.
  •  Assess and document fairness, explainability, accountability and human-oversight arrangements.
  •  Support the design and implementation of AI-specific controls, assurance processes and control-gap remediation.
  •  Embed third-party AI governance and due diligence into procurement, supplier assessment and vendor-risk processes.
  •  Coordinate responsible AI training, awareness and adoption activities, and support the handover of governance processes into business-as-usual operations.

About You

  • Strong knowledge of AI governance and responsible AI principles, with experience implementing governance frameworks and controls.
  • Good understanding of the AI and machine-learning lifecycle, including data, models, deployment, change, performance, drift, limitations and third-party dependencies.
  •  Experience coordinating cross-functional stakeholders across business, data, technology, cyber security, privacy, legal, procurement, vendor risk, compliance and audit.
  •  Experience in risk and control design, implementation, testing, assurance and remediation tracking.
  •  Ability to design governance reporting, management information, KPIs, KRIs, thresholds and dashboards.
  •  Strong critical-assessment skills, with the confidence to challenge stakeholders, escalate material issues and track actions through to resolution.
  •  Excellent documentation, facilitation, communication and change-implementation skills.
  •  Ability to produce clear, complete and auditable governance records, procedures, workflows, templates and evidence.
