Our Returners Program supports professionals returning after a career break. Since 2016, we’ve restarted over 500 careers globally, guiding you through every step to regain confidence, skills and opportunities in business or technology. 

FDM, a business and technology consultancy, offers careers across five core Practices, helping you leverage your skills and experience to succeed in your chosen field. 

As an FDM Consultant, you'll provide services to our clients in Australia within FDM's Software Engineering or Data & Analytics Practice. 

After initial upskilling, you'll be assigned to client projects, taking on roles like Software Engineer, Automation Tester, Data Engineer, Data Analyst or Business Intelligence Analyst. You could work on cutting-edge digital transformations, data migration, new application development or business process improvements. 

Example projects include:

  • Developing backend APIs for a new banking application
  • Supporting a data migration project using BI tools for a government platform
  • Building out automation test scripts for an insurance web-based tool

You’ll be assigned to client projects based on your strengths and expertise. FDM’s Skills Lab and expert coaches help you stay on top through continuous learning and webinars. It’s a journey full of exciting opportunities - seize them.

About You

  • Have at least 5 years’ experience in a commercial IT role
  • Have at least 1 years’ career break
  • Be able to work full time hours on client site up to 5 days p/week (project dependant)
  • Be based in either Sydney or Melbourne 
  • Australian citizen or permanent resident 
  • Technical experience/background is preferred
