About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Security Assurance Manager to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend.

As a Security Assurance Manager, you will be managing and delivering security assurance activities independently, ensuring that our client’s security controls are effective and compliant with organisational standards. You will have a strong background in security assurance, with the ability to work autonomously and provide support across various departments. This role will involve gathering and centralising evidence from audits and control testing, liaising with internal teams, and preparing regular updates for our global security assurance tracking.

Key Responsibilities:
 
Security Control Analysis & Liaison
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand our security controls and their implementation.
  • Ensure security controls align with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on control improvements and remediation.
Evidence Gathering & Management
  • Collect and centralise evidence from recent audits and controls testing to support compliance and audit requirements.
  • Maintain a well-organised repository of control evidence, ensuring it is accessible for future audits and assessments.
  • Establish and document evidence related to controls across various domains, including cybersecurity, operational resilience, physical security, and health & safety.
Reporting & Assurance
  • Prepare and submit quarterly reports to global colleagues, tracking the status of security assurance across the organisation.
  • Support the team in the preparation of regulatory or stakeholder reports as needed, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of security assurance activities and provide regular updates to senior management.

About You

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a security assurance or compliance role.
  • Strong understanding of security controls, audit processes, and risk management principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Experience in preparing reports and evidence documentation for audits or regulatory purposes.
