About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Project Manager to work for our client within the financial services sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Northampton.

In this role you will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects to plan, budget and agreed quality and governance standards. You will typically be required to manage at least three complex projects simultaneously. The successful candidate will manage project teams engaged throughout the full delivery lifecycle and deliver projects supporting the business strategy from business case through to initiation, requirement analysts, design, build, testing, implementation, and closure.

Responsibilities

  • Work with management to help define and implement aspects of the strategy and vision
  • Translate gaps between current state data architecture and strategy into a project plan/roadmap
  • Reference the strategy in supporting decision making with the team
  • Identify, assesses, and manages project risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies, escalating as appropriate via the agreed governance framework
  • Control the scope of projects, ensuring that rigorous change control is exercised
  • Ensure that sufficient level of detail project and quality plans are prepared and maintained for complex projects, providing regular and accurate reports on progress against plan to stakeholders as appropriate
  • Ensure project dependencies and assumptions are factored into the planning process
  • Set out the business case for the programme taking into account information on benefits, costs, risks and timescales, concluding on whether it is desirable, viable and achievable
  • Ensure that stakeholder mapping & stakeholder plan is comprehensive and considers internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop and manages one or more defined communication channels which facilitates open communication and discussion between stakeholders for multiple workstreams/projects
  • Communication to key stakeholders/groups to keep them informed of key changes and potential impact of the project outcome through published status reports
  • Take ownership for stakeholder management of multiple senior stakeholders within the assigned business area
  • Facilitate negotiation/mediation between different stakeholders to aid decision making process
  • Actively supports their team in maximising the effective use of time, resource and budget management
  • Adapt to changing requirements, re-prioritising and changing course as necessary, supporting their team in making any necessary changes

 

About You

Requirements

  • 7 + years extensive experience in managing projects with medium to high complexity, business critical and large cross-functional team spanning multiple regions and functions
  • Extensive experience in driving technology and data delivery across multiple applications using Agile and Lean principles and practices
  • Experience of working on risk, finance and/or treasury projects as a hands-on delivery on large and complex projects
  • Proven track record of the full project life cycle delivery
  • Project management qualification and/or equivalent training/experience
  • Demonstrable experience in a Project Manager role with strong evidence of both business and technology change delivery within finance or banking
  • Experience working in finance data migration projects
  • Experience of working in an agile project team
  • Strong evidence of stakeholder management at all levels
  • Highly articulate and persuasive communicator with strong communication skills
  • Experience of managing large projects in a financial and regulated environment
  • Presentation and communication skills, managing senior (D and MD Level) stakeholders
  • Experience of working in a controlled projects environment
  • Experience of working on risk, finance and/or treasury projects
  • Experience managing collaboration across geographical locations
