About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Retail Business Analyst to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 3-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.

Working with primarily fashion retailers and international brands you will assist our client’s retail clients in the areas of design and product development, buying and merchandising and supply chain management. Using your industry background combined with the client’s proven methodologies, you will help clients to achieve agreed goals. You will be providing practical solutions for clients that have measurable and lasting results.

Responsibilities

  • Produce high quality deliverables that assist clients in delivering business improvements
  • Support team members and clients in organising, controlling, and structuring plans, activities, ownership, and deliverables
  • Building honest and credible relationships with client executive, project sponsorship, teams, and users
  • Build industry, competitive and company analyses (strategic, financial, operational) as well as market research for benchmarking
  • Capture analysis and documentation of business capabilities about operations, processes, people, and technology to develop solutions
  • Assist in presenting information, findings, insights, and recommendations to executives
  • Build client profiles and org charts (market, model, channels, etc)
  • Prepare reports, presentations, and insights based on client interviews, workshops, and meetings
  • Organise research materials; creating an audit trail; and documenting assumptions
  • Assist in the running of process and requirements workshops

About You

  • At least five years’ experience as a business analyst in a retailer/brand and/or retail consultancy
  • Strong awareness of the challenges of merchandising, pricing, product design, product development, supply management and/or business change in a global and/or multi-channel business
  • Understands primary systems and high-level systems architecture used in retail
  • Outstanding written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex problems or solutions in a way in which they are quickly understood
  • Good analytical skills and highly confident in tools such as Excel and PowerPoint
  • Able to work under minimum oversight, be self-motivated, and engage peers and senior consultants as needed
  • Able to work well in diverse multi-cultural team environments
  • Strong organisational, prioritisation, and time management skills
  • Experience of working with a major software implementation
  • Experience or understanding of retail merchandising/analytics and product development processes
  • Ability to approach problems in methodical and logical manner
  • Successful retail career within the key functions of merchandising, buying, supply chain or IT
  • Major apparel Brand or vertical retailer background
