About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Cybersecurity Project Manager to work for our client within the finance sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Knutsford.

Our client is seeking a results-driven Project Manager with cybersecurity experience to lead and coordinate the planning, execution, and delivery of cybersecurity-related projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management methodologies and a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, technologies, and regulatory requirements. This role ensures the successful delivery of cybersecurity initiatives that protect our organisation's data, systems, and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and manage cybersecurity projects, including risk assessments, compliance initiatives (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2), incident response preparedness, and infrastructure security upgrades
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation strategies
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including IT, security, legal, and business stakeholders
  • Identify project risks, issues, and dependencies, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor project progress and deliverables, ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and timeline
  • Report project status to stakeholders and senior leadership, providing clear and actionable insights
  • Manage vendor relationships and third-party cybersecurity solution providers.
  • Ensure that all projects adhere to internal cybersecurity policies and external compliance standards
  • Facilitate training, awareness, and change management as part of cybersecurity implementations

About You

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in project management with at least 2 years in cybersecurity-related projects
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, threats, and best practices
  • Experience with project management tools (e.g., Jira, MS Project, Asana)
  • Familiarity with compliance and regulatory standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, NIST, ISO 27001
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • PMP, CISM, CISSP, or similar certifications
  • Experience with cloud security (e.g., AWS, Azure)
  • Background in penetration testing coordination or vulnerability management programs
  • Agile or hybrid project management methodology experience
