About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Programme Manager to work for our client within the insurance sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Edinburgh.

Our client is seeking a Data Transformation Programme Manager to lead and deliver enterprise-wide data transformation projects.  This pivotal role will improve data governance, modernise analytics infrastructure, and enhance the organisation’s technological capabilities, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have experience in programme leadership, data strategy execution, stakeholder management and performance monitoring.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple interrelated data transformation projects, ensuring delivery within scope, timeframe, and budget
  • Develop comprehensive programme plans, manage interdependencies, and report progress to executive leadership.
  • Implement data governance frameworks, ensure regulatory compliance, and support digital innovation
  • Lead the adoption of new data platforms, automation tools, and analytics solutions
  • Collaborate with executives, IT teams, data scientists, and external partners to drive programme success
  • Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, and ensure smooth transitions to new data systems
  • Regularly review programme performance, providing transparent updates and actionable insights to senior leadership
  • Establish key metrics to measure the success and impact of data transformation initiatives

About You

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in programme management within data transformation or digital change projects
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, data architecture and regulatory compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams
  • Expertise in programme budgeting, resource allocation, and risk management
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
  • Familiarity with modern data technologies, cloud ecosystems (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), and enterprise data platforms
  • Project/Programme management certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, MSP, or Agile (e.g., SAFe) are highly desirable
