About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Solutions Architect to work for our client within the banking sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Bristol.

As a Solution Architect, you'll play a key design role expanding the use of modern tools and technologies to support the key financial reporting obligations. You'll work alongside product owners, engineers and other architects to help us deliver transformative solutions and roadmaps.

Responsibilities:
  • Take the lead in designing solutions for key change initiatives, using research and collaboration to guide your approach.
  • Partner with Product Owners to evaluate business needs and translate them into practical, innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineers to assess the technical feasibility of solutions—an opportunity to grow your technology expertise.
  • Work closely with enterprise architects to validate your designs and align with group standards and strategic goals.
  • Engage with a Groupwide community of architects enabling your skills and abilities to thrive.

About You

Requirements:
  • A background in software Engineering design or Solution Architecture.
  • Proven experience leading design initiatives across complex operational and technological environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A genuine passion for creating and championing high-quality design practices that drive optimal solution performance.
  • Expertise in organisational design standards, architecture, and design governance requirements.
  • Experience in a financial reporting or finance function is advantageous but not essential.
