About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Project Manager to work for our client within the finance sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Bournemouth.

Our client is seeking a results-driven Project Manager with proven experience delivering complex projects within the banking and payments sector. This role offers the opportunity to lead critical initiatives that support the development and transformation of financial systems and infrastructure.

As a Project Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the successful planning, execution, and delivery of programs across our banking and digital payments portfolio. You’ll work collaboratively across business, technology, compliance, and third-party vendors to deliver impactful results on time and within scope.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of projects related to banking systems, payment platforms, and digital finance initiatives
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables by working with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, budgets, and resource allocations
  • Conduct regular project meetings, track progress, and ensure timely resolution of issues and risks
  • Maintain clear, up-to-date project documentation, including requirements, plans, and reports
  • Oversee change management, status reporting, and ensure transparent and effective stakeholder communication
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business goals, compliance standards, and technical requirements

About You

Requirements

  • 5+ years of project management experience, with a strong focus on banking, payments, or broader financial services
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering projects involving payment systems or payments infrastructure
  • Good understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, MS Project, Trello, Confluence, or similar
