About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Pega Developer to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 7-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a remote role with monthly visits to the office in Leeds. 

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Pega Developer to join our growing technology team.  In this pivotal role, you will play an integral part in the design, development, and deployment of robust, scalable, and efficient Pega-based business applications.

Working collaboratively with solution architects, business analysts, and key stakeholders, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality software solutions that meet business requirements while adhering to technical standards and Pega best practices. You will be expected to contribute across the full software development lifecycle and help drive continuous improvement in our Pega development practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and implement end-to-end Pega applications using Pega PRPC (Pega Rules Process Commander) and associated tools, with a focus on scalability, performance, and maintainability
  • Collaborate closely with business and technical teams to interpret requirements and translate them into functional and technical specifications
  • Develop and configure business rules, workflows, UI components, data models, and integrations, ensuring compliance with Pega guardrails and best practices
  • Participate in unit testing, code reviews, and peer programming to ensure high standards of code quality and system performance
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues across development, testing, and production environments, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations
  • Actively contribute to Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming. Provide accurate effort estimates and support sprint delivery
  • Mentor junior developers and promote a culture of continuous learning and collaboration within the Pega development team

 

About You

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience in developing Pega applications, ideally within enterprise-level environments
  • Pega Certified Senior System Architect (CSSA) is mandatory
  • Strong command of Pega platform capabilities, including case lifecycle management, decisioning, UI design, and data integration
  • Experience with Pega industry frameworks such as Pega Customer Service, Sales Automation and Pega Marketing
  • Experience working with REST/SOAP APIs, database queries, and integration with third-party systems
  • Proficiency in performance tuning, error handling, and application debugging
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and clients
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and tools for CI/CD automation
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, including Pega Cloud, AWS, or Azure
  • Working knowledge of Java or other object-oriented programming languages is an advantage
