About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an Integration Manager to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London.

Our client is seeking highly capable Central Systems Integration Lead to oversee and coordinate the integration of two major IT systems as part of a large-scale transformation programme. This is a strategic and hands-on role that will require exceptional coordination skills, technical understanding of integration tools and APIs, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders — including external partners such as IBM and ATOS.

You will act as the central point of alignment, ensuring seamless integration across systems, services, and suppliers, while also serving as a Strategic Management Advisor (SMA) on integration matters.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all integration planning and execution activities, leveraging supplier technical resources where applicable
  • Oversee API integration strategy, including duplication checks, system alignment, and end-to-end flow
  • Serve as the single point of oversight across teams, projects, and suppliers to ensure consistent integration practices
  • Work closely with project and programme teams to ensure effective integration of IT assets across service lines
  • Develop and maintain a clear understanding of all interfacing systems, including the commercial and delivery landscape governing them
  • Identify and implement best practices, processes, and products for integration management
  • Establish and maintain an Integration Asset Register, tracking integration points, ownership, and business value
  • Independently assess the complexity and capability requirements of integration within individual projects
  • Ensure projects have the appropriate support and professional sponsorship to meet integration objectives
  • Perform integration assurance checks at the project, account, and portfolio level to identify risks, systemic issues, and opportunities for improvement or reuse

About You

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Integration Management
  • Strong business acumen with a clear understanding of technical API integration principles and tools
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external suppliers in complex environments
  • Hands-on familiarity with modern integration tools and platforms, including IBM integration mechanisms and Kafka
  • Track record of leading multi-vendor coordination and aligning strategic technical delivery across large programmes
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute integration strategies, governance frameworks, and delivery plans
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills at all levels
  • Comfortable working in high-pressure environments with shifting priorities and complex interdependencies
