About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a to work for our client within the Insurance sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Edinburgh.

Our client is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to support a high-priority IT security initiative that identified around 90 resolution points. You will support analytical activities on the critical remediation project for Phase 2 and 3 on the Credential Management workstream. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can quickly adapt and operate independently in a fast-paced environment. They will be comfortable working in a Waterfall delivery environment as well as be familiar with data analysis, reporting and identifying risk patterns.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with senior stakeholders, across Security, Operations, Network, and Infrastructure teams
  • Collaborate closely with Second Line Risk, a highly detail-oriented team, and deliver online presentations to stakeholders
  • Drive closure of remaining security gaps to mitigate exposure to cyber threats
  • Support data-related tasks, such as identifying high-risk users from large datasets (analysing portal access logs for ~7,000 users) 
  • Create and maintain documentation of progress, decisions and requirements
  • Drive and support analysis, solution validation as well as track progress of projects to deliver Phase 2 and 3 objectives
  • Provide consistent updates to senior stakeholders and project sponsors through reports or dashboards communicating risks and progress
  • Conduct analysis on business impact of security issues while prioritising solutions based on importance and compliance requirements

About You

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Business Analyst
  • Comfortable with analysing and transforming large volumes of data 
  • Good working knowledge of Excel
  • Experience with process mapping: As Is vs To Be with associated walk throughs along with technical colleagues 
  • Excellent awareness of risk, promoting a collaborative environment with risk to protect the client and customers 
  • Positive outlook, good team player, polite with a strong customer focus
  • Stakeholder Management skills with the ability to prioritise
  • Requirements gathering and documentation skills as well as knowledge of the Agile model
  • Knowledge of IT Security Process and experience of Service Now with the reporting functionality provided by the application are highly desirable
