About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a strong PMO Officer with practical working knowledge of ServiceNow SPM to work for our global consultancy client. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Solihull.  

The PMO Officer supports the effective delivery of programmes and projects by providing high-quality coordination, governance, and administrative support across the portfolio. This role ensures that programme management standards are upheld, information is accurate and timely, and that delivery teams are supported with the tools, processes, and insights needed to succeed.

The postholder will work closely with Programme Managers, Project Leads, Business Analysts, and senior stakeholders to ensure alignment, visibility, and control across all delivery activities.

Governance & Control

  • Maintain and enforce PMO standards, templates and lifecycle processes across all projects and programmes.
  • Support the onboarding of new projects into the portfolio, ensuring compliance with initiation and governance requirements.
  • Coordinate and minute meetings, ensuring actions are tracked and followed up.
  • Maintain a central repository of programme documentation, ensuring version control and audit readiness.
  • Liaise with staff in other PMOs so that standards are implemented consistently across Serco

Planning & Scheduling

  • Support the development and maintenance of integrated programme plans, including milestone tracking and dependency mapping
  • Facilitate planning workshops and ensure alignment between project-level and programme-level timelines
  • Monitor progress against plans and escalate slippage or risks to the appropriate governance forums.

Reporting & Insights

  • Produce  high-quality weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports for senior leadership, including RAG status, KPIs, and delivery metrics.
  • Maintain dashboards and visual reporting tools to provide real-time visibility of programme health.
  • Analyse trends in delivery performance and support the Head of Programme Operations in identifying areas for improvement.

Risk, Issues & Change Management

  • Maintain centralised logs for risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies (RAID).
  • Support risk mitigation planning and ensure timely escalation of critical issues.
  • Coordinate change control processes, ensuring impact assessments are completed and approvals are documented.

About You

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a PMO, project support, or programme coordination role.
  • Strong understanding of project and programme management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile, MSP).
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and collaboration platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Teams).
  • Experience using project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or equivalent.

Desirable Qualifications & Attributes

  • Formal PMO or project management certification (e.g., P3O, PRINCE2 Foundation/Practitioner, AgilePM).
  • Experience working in a matrixed or multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Familiarity with benefits realisation, portfolio prioritisation, and resource management practices.
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Comfortable working independently and remotely, with strong self-management skills.
