About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Business Analyst to work for our client within the transport sector. This is initially a 3 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Manchester.   

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst to support a short-term discovery initiative. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in gathering requirements, mapping processes, and shaping user stories.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead requirement-gathering sessions with stakeholders across business and technical teams.
  • Create detailed process maps to visualize current and future state workflows.
  • Translate complex technical language into business-friendly terminology.
  • Collaborate with users to understand pain points and opportunities.
  • Develop clear and concise user stories to support solution design.
  • Identify gaps, dependencies, and risks during the discovery phase.
  • Document findings and present recommendations to stakeholders.

About You

  • Proven experience in business analysis, particularly in discovery or early project phases.
  • Strong proficiency in process mapping tools
  • Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts effectively.
  • Experience working with Agile teams and writing user stories.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Comfortable working in short-term, fast-paced environments.
