About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Cloud DevOps Engineer (GCP) to join our client in the financial sector. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with several years of cloud or DevOps experience to contribute to the development of secure, scalable and highly resilient Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure. You will be part of an agile engineering team supporting business-critical applications within a major financial institution.

As an FDM consultant, you will work across the cloud engineering lifecycle—building and configuring GCP services using Infrastructure as Code, integrating centrally provided platform components, supporting CI/CD workflows and contributing to continuous testing and operational readiness. Your responsibilities will include working with hardened OS images, assisting with patching, supporting non-functional testing and ensuring compliance with cloud security, governance and operational risk standards.

You will collaborate closely with cloud engineers, application DevOps teams, network specialists and cross-functional IT groups. In your daily work, you will help design and configure core GCP networking components such as VPCs and shared networks, support containerised environments, implement monitoring and logging solutions, contribute to impact assessments for platform changes, automate routine tasks and assist in maintaining a highly available operational environment. You will also work within regulated-environment practices, supporting secure configuration, IAM principles and cloud compliance requirements.

We are looking for individuals who are proactive, adaptable and confident working within complex cloud platforms. This role is ideal for someone with practical cloud engineering experience who wants to deepen their GCP expertise and contribute to large-scale enterprise cloud transformation.

About You

What we expect:

  • 4–5 years of experience in Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Hands-on experience with GCP or another major cloud provider, including core infrastructure services.
  • Practical knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and automation tools (Terraform preferred).
  • Strong experience in Linux administration, scripting (Python, Bash or similar) and automation practices.
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking (VPCs, routing, firewalls, segmentation) and CI/CD concepts.
  • Understanding of cloud security, IAM principles and compliance standards used in regulated environments.

What we offer:

  • A clearly defined career path supported by training and certifications.
  • Opportunities to re-skill and upskill through continuous learning.
  • Ongoing support from FDM teams and client-side mentors.
  • Real-world project experience and access to a global professional network.
  • Benefits including insurance, private medical care, well-being support, sports card and training courses.
