About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an Agile Coach/Transformation Lead to work for our client in the global consultancy sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Solihull.

Our client is seeking an Agile Coach/Transformation Lead to support the establishment of a consistent Agile structure across their portfolio of products. The current landscape lacks alignment and standardisation, and this role will be key to driving clarity, governance, and Agile ways of working (without directly managing any Scrum Teams).

Working closely with the Head of Product Delivery & QA, you will guide the organisation through the setup of Agile practices, frameworks, and tooling, ensuring teams and stakeholders understand and adopt new processes effectively.

Responsibilities:

Agile Structure & Framework Setup

  • Design and implement an effective Agile operating model across a diverse product portfolio.
  • Establish clear Agile practices, ceremonies, and governance structures suitable for multiple teams and products.
  • Assess current workflows and identify opportunities to streamline, align, and improve delivery processes.
  • Support leadership in understanding Agile principles, roles, and responsibilities.

Coaching & Facilitation

  • Act as a coach and advisor for teams and stakeholders who are transitioning into Agile ways of working.
  • Provide guidance similar to a Scrum Master—but at portfolio level, not tied to any specific Scrum Team.
  • Facilitate workshops, training sessions, and Agile maturity assessments across the organisation.
  • Promote continuous improvement and a culture of collaboration, transparency, and empowerment.

JIRA & Tooling Setup

  • Configure and implement JIRA as the central tool for portfolio-level visibility and governance.
  • Set up JIRA “containers” (projects, boards, workflows, hierarchy, reporting) to align with the new Agile structure.
  • Define and build dashboards and reporting mechanisms to provide clarity on product delivery, progress, and dependencies.

About You

  • Strong experience as an Agile Coach, Scrum Master, or equivalent transformation-focused role.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and establish Agile practices across multiple products or teams.
  • Hands-on expertise with JIRA, including configuration at project and portfolio levels.
  • Excellent facilitation, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with stakeholders at all levels to bring structure to complex or unaligned environments.

Desirable:

  • Experience in scaling frameworks (e.g., SAFe, LeSS, Scrum@Scale) is beneficial but not required.
  • Previous involvement in organisational Agile transformations.
  • Understanding of portfolio management practices (e.g., road-mapping, prioritisation, dependency management).

What This Role Is Not:

  • Not a Scrum Master for a single team.
  • Not managing or supervising any Scrum Teams directly.
  • Not an administrative role—this is a coaching, design, and transformation-focused position.
