About The Role

This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.

FDM is seeking a Network Operations Center (NOC) Lead located in Jacksonville, FL to support a project in the Financial Services sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 12 months but may be extended.

This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 3 days per week.

Our organization is executing a high-visibility, critical Data Center Migration Project through 2026. Successful weekend execution is paramount, driven by a Command Center (CC) operating 24x2 during migration periods. We seek highly experienced Senior Command Center Leads to manage these operations.
The NOC Lead is a pivotal role, responsible for overseeing and driving all weekend Data Center Migration activities. This includes proactive readiness, real-time monitoring, critical communication, and rapid issue/escalation management. Candidates must possess exceptional leadership, communication, and decision-making skills to navigate complex, high-pressure scenarios with senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Readiness & Planning: Lead pre-weekend readiness, validate migration plans, confirm resource availability, and ensure all communication tools and contingency plans are prepared.
  • Execution Monitoring: Continuously track migration progress against timelines, actively monitor incident dashboards, and anticipate potential project impacts.
  • Advanced Communication:
    • Proactively manage and moderate all project-related Teams chats, synthesizing critical updates.
    • Draft and distribute clear, concise, and executive-level status updates (progress, issues, next steps) to diverse stakeholders.
    • Initiate and lead critical conference bridges, driving discussions to clear outcomes and assigned actions.
    • Craft urgent ad-hoc communications for critical events, tailored for various audiences (technical to executive).
  • Expert Issue & Escalation Management:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for all migration issues, rapidly triaging and prioritizing based on business impact.
    • Strictly adhere to, and execute, defined escalation protocols, engaging senior technical leads, project management, and executive leadership (Directors/VPs) as required.
    • Drive incident resolution, ensuring clear ownership and rapid progress.
  • Comprehensive Documentation & Reporting:
    • Ensure meticulous logging of all significant events, decisions, and incidents during the shift.
    • Generate a high-quality, analytical post-weekend report summarizing activities, successes, incidents, lessons learned, and outstanding items for senior leadership review.
  • Effective Handover: Conduct thorough, detailed handovers to ensure seamless transition between shifts and maintain operational continuity.

About You

Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in critical IT operations, Incident Management, Network/Service Operations Center (NOC/SOC) leadership, or similar roles within large enterprise environments.
  • Proven ability to lead virtual teams  and make sound decisions under pressure during critical incidents.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience interacting and influencing senior leadership (Directors/VPs).
  • Strong technical acumen in data center infrastructure (compute, storage, network, virtualization, cloud).
  • Proficiency with enterprise incident management (e.g., ServiceNow), collaboration (e.g., MS Teams), monitoring tools, and project management platforms.
  • Availability to work a rotational weekend schedule to support 24x2 operations for the duration of the project.
