About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Business Analyst to work with our client in the Insurance sector. This is an initial 6‑month fixed‑term contract with strong potential to extend. The role will be delivered on a hybrid basis, with on‑site presence required in Edinburgh.

Our client is undergoing significant transformation within their Marketing & COO areas, focused on improving workflow automation, scaling content operations, and enhancing efficiency across key communication processes. This role sits within the Engagement Enabler programme, contributing to projects that automate customer communications, streamline marketing workflows, and embed a Microsoft‑first approach to operational automation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end‑to‑end business analysis activities across marketing, compliance, and delivery teams.
  • Gather, refine, and validate requirements independently, driving clarity in ambiguous or complex environments.
  • Analyse existing workflows and define opportunities for automation using Microsoft technologies, particularly Power Automate.
  • Support delivery of the Content Marketing Platform, including lifecycle communications and automated customer messaging.
  • Ensure traceability of requirements through to UAT and deployment, supporting both business and technical testing.

About You

  • Strong core BA skills with experience working independently in large programmes.
  • Experience analysing workflows and designing process improvements; exposure to Power Automate is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of business rules, regulatory dependencies, and compliance-driven processes.
  • Confident stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience documenting requirements, workflows, and audit‑ready artefacts; familiarity with content/marketing platforms (e.g., Optimizely) is a plus.
