About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Microsoft Purview Configuration Specialist to work for our client within the data consultancy sector. This is initially a 3-month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a remote role.

Our client is seeking an experienced professional to lead the setup, configuration, and optimisation of Microsoft Purview within client environments. The role involves configuring data maps, scanning rules, cataloguing, and integrating Purview with Azure services to establish robust data governance and discovery capabilities.

Responsibilities:
 
  • Configure and optimise Microsoft Purview, including data map, scanning rules, and cataloguing setup.
  • Implement metadata management, classifications, and data lineage for improved discoverability.
  • Integrate Purview with Azure services and other data platforms.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for Purview configurations and governance models.
  • Provide training and guidance to client teams on Purview usage and best practices.

About You

  •  Proven experience configuring and managing Microsoft Purview in enterprise environments.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, metadata management, and data lineage.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure services (Data Lake, Synapse, Storage Accounts) and Purview integration.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect) are highly desirable.
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience in Purview configuration and data governance.
