About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an Agile Business Analyst to work for our client within the consulting sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a remote role with occasional attendance at the client's London office. 

 Our client is seeking an Agile-specialist Business Analyst, responsible for the end-user requirement capture and definition for experimentation and MVP product software development, within the Innovation & Digital function. This role will focus on Agentic AI implementation of a number of critical business use cases.  Any process automation or improvement knowledge is advantageous.

Within this role you will gather, review, document and analyse business requirements and processes through engagement and collaboration with our people. Reporting jointly to the Senior Business Analyst and the Digital Product Delivery Lead. Ensuring that the levels of service provided satisfy the expectations of leadership and stakeholder audience in an effective, efficient manner, governing change where necessary.

Requirements:

  • Requirement elicitation, analysis, specification, validation, and prioritisation, working with stakeholders and subject matter experts.  Facilitate meetings and workshops to gather information and requirements. Critically evaluate resultant information and extract business needs, reconcile conflicts. Translate high-level information into detailed requirements. Gather data to enable understanding of business processes. Map process designs to technology designs to consider how new processes impact on existing roles and people and technology. Outline an application’s non-functional requirements.
  •  Using the Agile methodology to create product backlogs, with validated user stories, acceptance criteria, quantifiable estimates and stated deliverables. Running and actively participating in workshops, design sessions and planning poker estimation sessions, as well as Agile ceremonies, such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
  • Collaborating with Developers and UI/UX resources in requirements refinement, concept, POC and mock-up design creation. Ensure compatibility between requirements and user experience and user journey considerations, as part of the design of a software application. 
  • Working closely with Product Managers, Innovation Managers, Digital Product Delivery Lead and the Digital Product Management team, to ensure a successful handover and service transition of the product and its backlog, once ready for production.
  • Ensuring that both Business Analysis and Digital Product Delivery best practices, agreed standards, policies and procedures, as well as governance and compliance are adhered to. Adopt a continuous learning and improvement mentality. 

About You

  • Proven track record performing business analysis within the Software Development Lifecycle, as well as end-to-end experience in software project and product delivery. Has a good knowledge of IT industry trends (especially AI), suppliers and products
  • Significant experience working within an Agile software development and delivery process. Comfortable running or participating in backlog estimation, planning poker or sprint planning sessions. Able to capture then translate business needs into requirements or process definitions. Create, manage and prioritise a product backlog, including user stories and detailed acceptance criteria.
  • Knowledge of managing a product backlog with Microsoft ADO, Jira or equivalent. Familiarity with MoSCoW prioritisation and deep understanding of software development estimating principles and process.   
  • Personable and confident, able to build relationships and drive consensus with stakeholders, whilst taking ownership and responsibility for deliverables. Empower others by collaborating on joint ideas and encourages others to view change as a positive process
  • Good problem management skills, able to see a problem through to a solution using advanced analytical and interpersonal skills. Can identify and analyse alternative approaches to dealing with issues and problems, whilst navigating complexity and ambiguity proactively and quickly, making sense of complex issues
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal including active listening. Ability to present to an audience in both formal and informal situations. Has the ability to convey information concisely, questioning others to check understanding. Shows confidence in dealing with all levels of the firm with demonstrable skills in influencing and negotiation methods and techniques. Can produce high-quality documentation.
  • ISEB Business Analysis or Systems Design qualification or equivalent commercial experience, ideally in a professional services practice would be a significant advantage
