About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Cloud Economics & FinOps Governance Support Analyst to work for our client within the Finance sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in Sheffield. 
 
Our client is seeking a CTO FinOps Governance Support analyst to support the development and implementation of governance frameworks, processes, controls and reporting for FinOps activity within both the public cloud, private cloud and on-premises environments their organization.

This includes supporting the management of the end to process for allocating, tracking and reporting on usage of contractual credits provided by the Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) and supporting the Governance Lead in executing their responsibilities as the Third-Party Risk Officer for third party engagements owned by CTO Cloud Services.

The role will also be responsible for coordinating outward communications from the Cloud Economics & FinOps Team.

Responsibilities

  • FinOps Governance & Executive Reporting: Producing FinOps-related information for key Technology governance committees and stakeholders, including but not exclusive to, Cloud Steering Committee, Cloud Execution Committee, Regional Cloud Committees, CSP Governance Meetings.
  • FinOps Stakeholder Management: Support the deployment of effective governance meetings with FinOps stakeholders, including the provision of accurate and timely management information (e.g. GBGF review meetings, FinOps Forum)
  • CSP Credits Management: Support the execution of the process across Technology for allocating CSP Credits to projects which are developing capabilities to migrate services to Cloud, and which meet the client and CSP criteria for use of credits. Ensure allocation decisions are transparent and auditable. Track and report on credits usage to appropriate governance committees. Manage the Credits Governance Committee.
  • Third Party Risk Management: Support the TPRO exercise oversight of Third-Party Risk Management activity (Archer process) for Cloud-owned engagements. Liaise with Cloud TPEMs (Engagement Managers) and TPM Hub (Case Managers) to ensure control tasks are carried out on timely basis and to the required standards, as documented by Risk Stewards. Carry out Quality Assurance activity and report on any exceptions and remediation plans at appropriate governance committees and management meetings (e.g. Cloud OpCo, RCMM).
  • Vendor Management: Support the governance framework in place for Vendor relationships which are owned by the CTO FinOps Team, including operational review meetings and associated management information.
  • Communications: Co-ordinate communications activity from the Cloud Economics & FinOps Team; set the standards, branding and control processes.
  • Ad hoc reporting: Develop appropriate reporting and insight when required on an ad hoc basis, responding with quality and timely MI which facilitates Executive decision making.
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of FinOps governance, reporting, stakeholder engagement strategies, communication channels and collaboration mechanisms to enhance the effectiveness of FinOps stakeholder management. Solicit feedback from stakeholders and incorporate lessons learned into future initiatives.

About You

  • 5 years + experience working in large Technology organisations.
  • Proven experience in supporting the design and deployment of governance frameworks in a large complex organisation.
  • Certified FinOps Practitioner or other FinOps certification
  • Awareness of FinOps industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in cloud financial management
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, derive actionable insights and explain in a way appropriate to different audiences.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence decision-making at various levels of the organization.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across different teams and levels of the organization.
