About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Project Manager to work with one of our key clients. This is an initial fixed‑term contract with strong potential to extend, based on a hybrid working model from Edinburgh or Cheshire.

Our client is delivering a major, multi‑year transformation programme that will bring critical operations, people, data, and technology in‑house. A central component of this programme is a large‑scale data migration, involving the transfer of complex, high‑volume policy and customer data onto new strategic target platforms. This requires strong data governance, careful dependency management, and robust stakeholder coordination to ensure accuracy, regulatory compliance, and a smooth cutover.

In addition to the data migration, the wider programme includes platform transitions across telephony, workflow, and CRM solutions. We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager who can oversee both the data migration workstream and the broader transformation, ensuring well‑governed, high‑quality delivery.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead complex, business‑critical initiatives across the transformation portfolio.
  • Take ownership of the data migration workstream, ensuring accurate, secure, and compliant movement of data to new platforms.
  • Apply best‑practice project management to deliver to time, cost, and quality expectations.
  • Provide leadership and motivation to multidisciplinary teams.
  • Define and secure the necessary project resources.
  • Identify, manage, and escalate risks and issues, maintaining strong governance.
  • Build collaborative relationships with third‑party delivery partners.
  • Maintain project cost control and understand impacts across broader financial performance.
  • Coach and mentor other Project Managers, contributing to capability uplift and continuous improvement.

About You

  • Extensive experience delivering complex projects within financial services.
  • Proven experience delivering data migration or platform migration projects within large‑scale change environments.
  • Ability to unblock issues and influence stakeholders across all organisational levels.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to build consensus across diverse teams.
  • Forward‑thinking approach to managing project costs, benefits, and dependencies.
  • Experience leading high‑performing teams and building trusted working relationships.
  • Background working on integration programmes or platform migrations is highly desirable.
