About The Role

This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy delivering client and industry driven solutions through our 5 core specialist Practices; Software Engineering, Data & Analytics, IT Operations, Change & Transformation, and Risk, Regulation & Compliance.

FDM is seeking a Senior Project Manager located in New York to support a project in the Finance Sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 12 months but may be extended.

This role will be <hybrid> with requirements to be in office  days per week.

Role Overview

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for leading complex, cross‑functional projects from initiation through delivery. This role requires strong stakeholder management, excellent communication, and the ability to drive teams across business and technology to deliver high‑quality outcomes on time and within scope. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail‑oriented, and comfortable operating in fast‑paced, dynamic environments.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Delivery

  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery of medium to large‑scale projects, ensuring alignment to business objectives.
  • Define project scope, delivery roadmap, timelines, milestones, and resource needs.
  • Manage risks, issues, dependencies, and change controls with clear mitigation plans.
  • Ensure delivery meets quality standards, regulatory requirements, and internal governance.

Stakeholder & Communication Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for all project stakeholders.
  • Facilitate project meetings, steering committees, and status reporting for senior leadership.
  • Build strong relationships across business, technology, operations, and external partners.

Financial & Resource Management

  • Own project budget, forecasting, and financial tracking.
  • Work with resource managers and functional leads to secure appropriate staffing.

Process & Continuous Improvement

  • Implement best‑practice project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).
  • Identify and drive process improvements to enhance project delivery efficiency.
  • Mentor junior project managers and contribute to PMO maturity

About You

Required Experience & Skills

Professional Experience

  • 7+ years of project management experience delivering complex, multi‑workstream initiatives.
  • Strong background managing projects in technology, financial services, or consulting (customizable).
  • Proven ability to manage distributed teams and vendor partners.
