About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Operational Resilience Manager  to work for our client within the Banking sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a hybrid  role that will be based in either Edinburgh, Sheffield or Birmingham.

HCIB Operational Resilience are a global team who provide support for 8 markets in both their compliance to local resilience regulations, as well as global resilience frameworks. As well as providing flexible support to each of the markets, this team are responsible for providing a cross-market view by sharing insights, driving efficiencies, executing resilience testing, and ensuring a consistent standard is achieved across all HBEU markets.

This role will support the Scenario Planning Lead in the delivery of the Internal Capacity Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP) Scenario Analysis to ensure that HBEU effectively assesses capital adequacy under a range of stress scenarios, along with support to Operational Resilience Testing on Important Business Services across the UK Non Ring Fenced Bank and Europe.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the design and effective governance of annual ICAAP Scenario Analysis plans to ensure that scenarios requiring period updates and new scenarios driven by trigger events are captured as required.
  • Support the development of ICAAP scenarios, along with the development and maintenance of an ICAAP scenario library to assist in the development and consistency of ICAAP scenarios.
  • Assist the Scenario Planning Lead with the development of documentation supporting ICAAP scenario analysis by analysing and interpreting risk data for inclusion in workshop packs. 
  • Support the execution of scenario analysis workshops by acting as the SME minute taker, ensuring that discussions and decisions are captured accurately. 
  • Leveraging the HCIB Threat Register, oversee the identification and development of severe but plausible scenarios that reflect potential risks to capital adequacy and align to the bank's risk taxonomy. 
  • Maintain the entity lessons learned and areas of improvement in the ICAAP process, ensuring that findings are documented and communicated to relevant stakeholders.
  •  Provide support to the Scenario Planning Lead in the development and delivery of Severe But Plausible Operational Resilience Tests, identifying opportunities to align scenarios between Op Res Testing and ICAAP

About You

  • Proven experience working within complex Governance Risk and Control (GRC) systems to analyse large amounts of operational risk data and drawing conclusions. 
  • Skilled in the operation of Excel and development of PowerPoint briefs. 
  • Ability to observe complex meetings involving SME topics and capture key decisions and outputs in comprehensive meeting minutes. 
  • Knowledge of the ICAAP or associated process (such as CCAR) is a plus. 
  • Knowledge and experience of operational resilience provisions in either the UK and Europe and some experience of testing is a plus.  
  • Execution focus to deliver at pace and against hard regulatory deadlines. 
  • Close attention to detail when delivering analysis and analysing data. 
  •  Demonstrates high ethical standards and integrity in all actions and decisions.
