About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an Enterprise Architect to work for our client within the financial services/regulatory sector. This is a 24‑month contract with strong prospects for extension and will be a hybrid role based in London, Leeds or Edinburgh.

Our client is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to lead architecture activity across complex programmes and strategic initiatives. This opportunity involves shaping enterprise‑level business, data, and technology architecture within a highly regulated environment, supporting transformation across multiple business divisions and working with senior leadership to drive strategic outcomes.

Responsibilities:

Translate business strategy into actionable architecture products and services, delivering clear, stakeholder‑ready materials.
Provide architectural recommendations and assurance to senior stakeholders and design authorities to guide strategic, technology, and data decisions.
Identify opportunities for business and technology innovation, shaping proposals that align to enterprise roadmaps and deliver tangible value.
Develop and maintain enterprise architecture vision, strategies and roadmaps, covering current (“as‑is”), future (“to‑be”), and transitional states.
Conduct horizon scanning to identify emerging industry, technology and regulatory trends and assess their impact and opportunities for the organisation.

About You

Proven experience working as an Enterprise Architect within financial services, public sector, or other regulated environments.
Strong expertise in architectural frameworks, methodologies and mapping standards (e.g., capability mapping, strategic roadmapping, TOGAF, BizBoK).
Broad understanding of technology trends, standards, platforms and the delivery of IT products and services.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills, with the credibility and gravitas to influence senior leadership and drive consensus.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical information into accessible content for business audiences.
Minimum 7+ years’ experience in enterprise architecture or related strategic architecture roles.
