About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Lead Product Owner (Director)- Day to Day Banking, Servicing and Mandates to work for our client within the Financial Services sector.This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London.

Our client is seeking an experienced Product Leader to define and drive the product vision for key banking capabilities across Day to Day Banking, Servicing, and Mandates. This role will lead strategic product initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs, while embedding a customer journey-led approach to unlock high-quality, scalable capabilities. The successful candidate will operate at a senior level, partnering with leadership and cross-functional teams to deliver impactful transformation across core banking products.

Responsibilities: 
  • Define and execute the product strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and customer needs
  • Own and oversee the full product development lifecycle, from ideation through to delivery and optimisation
  • Establish and track clear product goals, KPIs, and OKRs aligned to business outcomes
  • Drive innovation across banking products, leveraging modern systems, methodologies, and processes
  • Champion a customer-first approach, ensuring solutions enhance both internal and external user experiences
  • Lead collaboration across cross-functional teams, acting as the key liaison between product, technology, and senior stakeholders
  • Provide domain expertise in business and corporate banking, translating complex concepts into clear, actionable outcomes
  • Manage and provide direction to offshore teams (including India), ensuring seamless delivery and alignment
  • Continuously assess product performance and identify opportunities for improvement and optimisation

About You

  • Proven experience defining and delivering product strategy within large-scale banking environments (Day-to-Day Banking, Servicing, or Mandates preferred)
  •  Strong background in Agile product management, with hands-on experience using tools such as Jira, Confluence, and MI/OKR tracking frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to lead end-to-end product lifecycle delivery, including roadmap definition, prioritisation, and go-to-market execution
  • Deep domain expertise in business/corporate banking, with the ability to translate complex requirements into scalable product solutions
  • Experience working with and leading distributed/offshore teams (e.g., India), ensuring high-quality delivery and alignment
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with a track record of influencing senior leadership and cross-functional teams
  • Exposure to modern digital banking platforms, APIs, and customer journey transformation initiatives
  • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset, with experience using performance metrics to drive product decisions
  • Minimum of 10+ years’ experience in Product Management, with significant exposure to Financial Services / Banking environments
