About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Lead Security Architect (Support) to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a 6‑month contract with strong potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London.

Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive security architecture professional to support the Lead Security Architect in ensuring that solutions, systems and services are designed and governed with robust security controls and aligned with enterprise-wide security strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and advise on the technical design of systems and services, ensuring security-by-design principles are embedded throughout.
  • Support solution architects and ensure all technical designs are aligned with Information Security strategy, controls, and architectural standards.
  • Contribute to the development and ongoing maintenance of security reference architectures and roadmaps.
  • Participate in solution governance forums, providing expert review and challenge on solution and system designs.
  • Act as a security technology expert supporting change and transformation initiatives across the organisation. 

About You

  • Strong background in security architecture within complex enterprise environments.
  • Experience designing and reviewing secure system and solution architectures.
  • Knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls).
  • Familiarity with cloud security principles (AWS, Azure or GCP).
  • Minimum 5+ years’ experience in security architecture, cyber security consulting or similar disciplines.
  • Insurance experience would be desired.
