About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy, and we’re currently looking for an experienced Full Stack Data Engineer to join our client within the banking sector. This is initially a 12-month fixed term contract (with the potential to extend) and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Krakow.
 
In this role, you will support the development and improvement of a large-scale data platform, helping teams access reliable, well-structured data to support analytics and decision-making. You will work closely with engineers, analysts, and architects in an Agile environment. You will have strong data engineering fundamentals who is comfortable working across the full data lifecycle and enjoys complex data problems in collaborative teams.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines that ingest, transform, and deliver data reliably
  • Work with large datasets in distributed data environment
  • Translate business and technical requirements into practical data solutions
  • Improve and support existing data pipelines, including monitoring and data quality checks
  • Collaborate closely with BAs, Testers, Data Scientists and fellow Engineers across global teams
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives

About You

Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in a Data Engineer or similar role
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with structured and semi-structured data
  • Good hands-on experience with Python (or another backend language such as Java or Scala)
  • Experience building and maintaining ETL/ELT data pipelines
  • Experience working with big data platforms (e.g. Spark, Hadoop, or equivalent)
  • Familiarity with cloud-based data environments (AWS, Azure, or similar)
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
  • Comfortable working in Linux/Unix environments
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Desirable:
  • Experience with streaming data (e.g. Kafka or similar tools)
  • Exposure to data orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow or equivalent)
  • Experience with CI/CD, automation, or infrastructure-as-code tools
  • Experience supporting analytics or ML-focused data use cases
