About The Role

This position requires the successful candidate to work on a W2 directly with FDM. We cannot accept C2C, 1099 or employment sponsorship (e.g. H1-B) for this position.

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy delivering client and industry driven solutions through our 5 core specialist Practices; Software Engineering, Data & Analytics, IT Operations, Change & Transformation, and Risk, Regulation & Compliance.

FDM is seeking a Project Manager located in New York City to support a project in the financial sector. Involvement in this project is anticipated to last initially 24 months but may be extended.

This role will be hybrid with requirements to be in office 3 days per week.

About You

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end project delivery across technology and/or business initiatives.

  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables.

  • Drive execution with a strong focus on delivery, risk mitigation, and measurable outcomes.

  • Manage cross-functional teams including technology, business stakeholders, and vendors.

  • Facilitate executive-level status reporting, steering committees, and stakeholder updates.

  • Proactively identify, track, and resolve risks, issues, and dependencies.

  • Ensure adherence to enterprise governance, compliance, and risk frameworks.

  • Monitor budget, scope, and schedule to ensure successful project outcomes.

  • Champion Agile and/or hybrid delivery methodologies as appropriate.

Jira & Delivery Management Responsibilities

  • Advanced hands-on experience with Jira for:

    • Creating and managing epics, stories, tasks, and workflows

    • Building dashboards and executive reporting views

    • Managing sprint planning, backlog grooming, and velocity tracking

    • Generating delivery metrics and performance reports

  • Drive data-backed delivery insights using Jira dashboards and reporting tools.

  • Ensure traceability from requirements through implementation and release.

  • Maintain strong delivery visibility across stakeholders using structured reporting.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of Project Management experience, preferably within financial services.

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale, cross-functional initiatives.

  • Expert-level Jira experience (administration/configuration experience is a strong plus).

  • Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, and/or hybrid methodologies.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong executive presence with ability to influence senior stakeholders.

  • Experience working in highly regulated environments (banking/financial sector preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with large financial institutions.

  • PMP, CSM, or similar certification.

  • Familiarity with risk management, compliance, and audit processes.

  • Experience with financial systems, regulatory initiatives, or enterprise transformation programs.
