What you'll do 
You'll be embedded in a Risk Management team in Sydney, working alongside senior analysts on work that genuinely matters: 
  • Review and validate quantitative models across credit risk, market risk, pricing, valuation, forecasting, and AI/ML applications. 
  • Scrutinise model inputs, assumptions, and outputs to identify where risks and control gaps lie. 
  • Contribute to governance processes that keep the bank compliant and in control. 
  • Document findings and present analysis to senior executive stakeholders  
  • Work with senior analysts, risk managers, and cross-functional teams to translate complex quantitative findings into clear, compelling communication. 
  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline manual processes. 
  • Feed into uplift projects that improve model risk practices across the business. 

About You

We're not looking for one type of background, we're looking for one type of mindset. Analytical. Precise. Curious. Driven. 

You might come from Actuarial Science, Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Computer Science, or a junior trading or model governance role. Whatever your path, you'll need: 
  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline with strong academic achievement. 
  • Strong numeracy and sharp analytical thinking. 
  • The ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and simply. 
  • A genuine interest in coding, automation, and emerging technology. 
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a strong compliance mindset. 
  • Eligible to work in Australia (citizen or permanent resident)  
  • Experience with Python, SAS, R, or similar tools? Even better.
