About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Front Office FIX Support Analyst to work for our client within the Finance sector. This is initially a 12 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a fully office based role that will be based in London.

Our client is seeking a hands-on Front Office FIX Support Analyst to join their London trading desk. You will be the first line of technical and functional support for client and internal order flow across our electronic trading stack. In this highly visible role, you’ll partner closely with Sales Trading, Quant, Trading, and Network/Infra teams to ensure low-latency, high-reliability connectivity and flawless client execution through FIX.

Responsibilities:

Provide real‑time front‑office support for electronic trading, monitoring order flow, executions, and FIX session stability across EMEA market hours.
Manage and troubleshoot FIX connectivity, including log analysis, message validation, session resets, rejects, and routing issues for both client and internal order flow.
Lead client FIX onboarding and certification, coordinating with Sales Trading, clients, and vendors to deliver stable, timely go‑lives.
Support OMS/EMS and algorithmic trading workflows, diagnosing issues across DMA, smart order routing, and algo execution paths.
Perform production incident management, including triage, communication with trading, root-cause investigation, and post‑incident review contributions.
Enhance monitoring and reliability, using tools such as Corvil, Elastic/Kibana, or Grafana to identify anomalies, improve alerting, and reduce MTTR.
Coordinate change and release activities, conducting UAT, validating FIX rule changes, performing deployment checks, and ensuring production readiness.

About You

Strong knowledge of the FIX protocol (4.2–5.0/SP2), with the ability to troubleshoot live trading issues and interpret raw FIX logs.
Hands‑on experience with electronic trading systems such as FlexTrade, Bloomberg EMSX/TOMS, ION, or Fidessa, and a solid understanding of DMA, SOR, and algo execution workflows.
Proficiency with monitoring and observability tools including Corvil/Arista DANZ, Elastic/Kibana, Grafana, or Splunk for real‑time analysis and incident investigation.
Practical skills in SQL and scripting (Python or Shell) to support automation, diagnostics, and data analysis.
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, sequencing, session management) and familiarity with FIX engines such as QuickFIX, CameronFIX, or B2BITS/FIXEdge.
Previous front‑office or trading‑floor support experience, with the ability to communicate clearly and manage incidents under pressure.
Good knowledge of EMEA equity market microstructure, venues, auctions, and MiFID II best‑execution considerations.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in FIX & Financial Services
