About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an Infrastructure Services Manager to support a large-scale financial services environment. This role is offered on a fixed-term contract, initially 6 months, with strong potential to extend. The role is hybrid, based in Edinburgh or Cheshire.

You will be accountable for the end-to-end delivery of critical infrastructure services, ensuring availability, performance, security, and operational resilience across core platforms.

Responsibilities: 
 
  • Own and manage end-to-end infrastructure services within agreed SLAs
  • Lead 24/7 operational support, including major incident, problem, and change management
  • Act as the senior escalation point for infrastructure-related issues and risks
  • Manage third-party suppliers, contracts, and service performance
  • Lead, coach, and develop infrastructure engineering teams
  • Oversee delivery of infrastructure change and technical improvements
  • Ensure services operate within agreed risk and regulatory frameworks
  • Collaborate closely with architecture, security, and business stakeholders

About You

  • Proven experience in infrastructure service delivery or IT operations management
  • Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure (compute, storage, networks, security)
  • Experience working in regulated or complex enterprise environments
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop technical teams
  • Strong supplier, financial, and service performance management experience
  • Confident engaging with senior stakeholders and translating technical issues clearly
  • Hands-on awareness of operational resilience, incident response, and service stability
