About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Front Office Business Analyst to work for our client within the Financial Services sector. This is initially a 12 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a fully office based role in London.

Our client is seeking 
a highly capable Front Office Business Analyst with strong experience in equities trading workflows, regulatory reporting (MiFID II), and front office trading systems. This role sits directly with the business, partnering closely with Traders, Compliance, Operations, and Technology to translate complex regulatory and workflow requirements into clear, actionable functional specifications.
 
Responsibilities:
 
  • Analyse equities trading workflows end‑to‑end (order placement to execution, booking, and reporting) and identify gaps or improvement opportunities.
  • Translate complex business and regulatory requirements such as MiFID II obligations into clear functional specifications and user stories for Technology teams.
  • Support enhancements to trading systems (OMS/EMS or proprietary platforms), ensuring changes align with Front Office needs and regulatory rules.
  • Lead and coordinate UAT, including writing test cases, validating new functionality, and ensuring accurate MiFID reporting outputs.
  • Act as the bridge between Traders, Compliance, and Technology, providing workflow guidance, resolving issues, and ensuring continuous alignment across teams.

About You

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst within financial services, with direct exposure to Front Office or trading environments.
  • Strong equities knowledge
  • Hands‑on MiFID II reporting experience, especially for equities (e.g., RTS 22 transaction reporting, post‑trade transparency).
  • Proven ability to interpret and analyse complex business/regulatory documents and convert them into clear, structured functional requirements.
  • Experience working with trading systems and collaborating closely with developers, QA, Traders, and Compliance teams.
