About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Business Analyst – Insurance Applications to work for our client within the Insurance / Lloyd’s Market sector. This is initially a 6‑month contract with strong potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London.

Our client is looking for an experienced Business Analyst who can operate in a fast‑moving, unstructured environment to support application functionality across underwriting, policy administration and risk‑writing processes. This role sits at the intersection of business users, underwriting teams and technology and will help drive repeatable change initiatives while supporting ongoing BAU demand.

Responsibilities

  • Work with business users to understand and document unstructured and evolving requirements
  • Support policy administration and risk‑writing processes across internal insurance systems
  • Analyse issues, troubleshoot system and process problems, and support through to resolution
  • Help prioritise and work through demand and backlogs in a continuous‑delivery environment
  • Produce clear, reusable requirement templates, process flows and supporting documentation
  • Act as a bridge between business stakeholders, underwriting teams and technical delivery
  • Support repeatable change initiatives across policy, risk and administration functions

About You

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst or similar delivery‑focused role within Insurance
  • Experience working in unstructured or high‑demand BAU + change environments
  • Understanding of insurance concepts (policy administration, risk writing, underwriting workflows)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to document requirements and communicate clearly
  • Comfortable troubleshooting issues and working hands‑on to drive backlog delivery
  • Exposure to change initiatives within policy admin, underwriting or risk platforms
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new business systems (e.g., Saberfish‑RiskWrite)

Nice to Have:

  • Lloyd’s of London market experience
  • Specialty lines insurance background
  • Experience in continuous improvement or dual “BAU + change” environments
