About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Data Product Management / Analytics Lead to work for our global systems integrator client, to lead the design, development and optimisation of complex high quality, analysis ready datasets that support enterprise decision making. This is initially a 6-month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a remote role. 

We are seeking an experienced Data Product Management / Analytics Lead to join an existing Data Engineering team to contribute to and oversee the build of complex enterprise data visualisations, enhance semantic modelling standards, oversee the consistency and reliability of data products, and act as an expert advisor on analytics engineering.

You will also advise on BI consumption models and dashboards / reports. quality, analysis ready datasets that support enterprise decision making across our client's UK & Europe business.

Responsibilities:

  • Data visualisation: Advise, design and support build of complex reports and dashboards to support KPI measurement, business performance and operational insights using PowerBI, Databricks or similar, which will include contractual, external, strategic, operational and ad-hoc reports/queries, as well as providing a self-service 
  • BI & semantic layer oversight: Provide direction for enterprise semantic models, certified datasets, metric frameworks, and self-service enablement across Power BI, Databricks and/or Domo.  
  • Visualisation & enablement: Oversee production of easy to understand, interactive and intuitive dashboards and business reports. Includes defining and governing semantic modelling standards (dimensional, canonical, lakehouse gold), ensuring consistency across business units. Provide analytics / visualisation direction for enterprise data products and shared datasets. 
  • Analytical strategy: Ensure solutions designed and built to analytics and data engineering strategy and standards using Azure/AWS and Databricks, ensuring scalable, cost optimised platforms that support advanced analytics, ML workflows and self-service BI.  
  • Analytics specialist: Act as subject matter expert for complex analytics solutions on Azure or AWS analytics stacks integrated with Databricks. 
  • Data quality & governance: Collaborate with Data Engineers to enhance source data, apply standards, and maintain documentation, testing frameworks, lineage, and data governance / security policies integrated with Databricks/Unity Catalog and cloud-native controls.  
  • Business partnership at senior levels: Shape strategic data requirements with Directors/CXOs, ensure alignment to organisational priorities, and challenge assumptions to guarantee clarity and value.  
  • Efficiency: Evaluate and recommend the pragmatic and cost effective approach to meeting report and analysts requirements, such as in-house development, delivery partner, specialist 3rd parties or otherwise based on scale, complexity and priority. 
  • Coaching, community & capability growth: Lead analytics engineering capability development, mentor / line manage analytics engineers, define standards, and build communities of practice across UK&E.  
  • Advanced Analytics: Support Data Scientists to use machine learning tools and statistical techniques to produce solutions to the organisations unique needs. 
  • Drive continuous improvement: Influence adoption of updated analytics capability standards and emerging analytical engineering best practices. 
  • Delivery: Lead delivery of major data analytics workstreams, resolving blockers, shaping delivery plans, informing prioritisation, and guiding teams through complex technical decisions.  

About You

  • Advanced BI expertise across Microsoft BI tools (SQL, SSRS, Power BI, Flow, Excel) with additional experience in SAP Analytics Cloud, Domo, Qlik or Tableau.
  • Expert data modelling with the ability to design enterprisewide models, reusable patterns, and scalable data products for complex analytics ecosystems.
  • Lakehouse engineering proficiency, including Databricks, Delta Lake (ACID), optimisation, governance, streaming and batch processing, and Unity Catalog.
  • Cloud analytics architecture skills in Azure or AWS, integrating Databricks with secure, automated, costoptimised, and wellgoverned data platforms.
  • Enterprisegrade data quality & governance leadership, covering testing, lineage, metadata, profiling, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Semantic and BI enablement expertise, including semantic modelling, KPI governance, and enterprise reporting architecture in Power BI or Domo.
  • Strong academic or equivalent professional background in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, plus relevant cloud certifications (Azure, AWS, Databricks) as a bonus.
  • 8+ years’ experience in enterprise analytics, spanning BI, analytics engineering, data science, and adherence to industry standards with the ability to propose justified deviations when appropriate.
