About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an FX Trade Support Analyst to work for our client within the investment baking sector. This is initially a 6-8 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role based in London.

Our client is seeking an experienced FX Trade Support Analyst to support FX trading activity, with responsibility for ensuring the accurate capture, validation, and oversight of FX trades across front-to-back systems. The role sits close to the trading desk and plays a critical part in trade integrity, risk sign-off, and issue resolution, offering strong exposure to FX products, market conventions, and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate capture and validation of FX trades across all relevant systems, including booking, amendments, and cancellations
  • Perform trade allocation activities in line with internal controls and timelines
  • Conduct same-day and T+1 checks to ensure P&L, positions, and exposures are accurately reflected
  • Investigate and resolve trade breaks and discrepancies, working closely with Front Office and Technology teams where required
  • Support daily risk sign-off processes, ensuring issues are escalated appropriately with clear root-cause analysis
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of FX market conventions, including value dates, holidays, currency pairs, quoting conventions, and settlement calendars
  • Act as a primary point of contact for FX trading desks, providing timely support and guidance on trade-related queries
  • Partner closely with traders to resolve trade issues, risk discrepancies, and unusual P&L movements
  • Identify opportunities to improve automation, reduce manual touchpoints, and strengthen operational controls

About You

  • Proven experience within FX Middle Office, Trade Support, or Product Control, supporting front-office trading activity
  • Strong understanding of FX products and market conventions, including spot, forwards, swaps, value dates, holidays, currency pairs, and settlement calendars
  • Hands-on experience working with front‑to‑back trading systems and risk platforms (e.g. trade booking, P&L, position and exposure reporting tools)
  • Comfortable performing same-day and T+1 reconciliations, P&L validation, and risk sign-off processes
  • Experience investigating and resolving trade breaks and discrepancies, including direct interaction with Front Office and Technology teams
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, root causes, and control gaps
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis); experience with SQL, Python, or automation tools is advantageous
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to work directly with FX trading desks
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to identify opportunities to improve automation, reduce manual processing, and enhance controls

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in an FX Middle Office, Trade Support, or closely aligned Front Office support function
