About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Business Analyst to work for our client within the UK public sector.

This is initially a 6‑month fixed term contract, with strong potential to extend. The role is predominantly remote BAU, with occasional travel to client offices for workshops and team meetings.

Our client is seeking a Business Analyst to support change delivery with a focus on understanding business needs, analysing current ways of working, and defining clear requirements to support complex regulatory programmes.

Responsibilities:
 
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business objectives and user needs
  • Analyse existing processes, systems and data to identify issues and improvement opportunities
  • Gather, document and manage business requirements
  • Support the development of options and recommendations for change
  • Work closely with project managers, delivery teams and subject matter experts
  • Produce clear documentation including requirements specifications and impact assessments
  • Support testing, implementation and transition into business as usual 

About You

  • Proven experience working as a Business Analyst or in a similar analytical role
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to engage effectively with senior and operational stakeholders
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience working in the public sector or a regulated environment is desirable
  • Experience working in Waterfall delivery environments

  • BPSS clearance required
