About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Junior Appian Developer to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with very good prospects to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Leeds.

Our client is seeking a Junior Appian Developer to join their growing engineering team and support the design, development, and maintenance of lowcode business applications using the Appian platform. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who is keen to develop their technical skills while working on meaningful, secure projects within a collaborative environment.

You will work closely with senior developers, business analysts, and delivery teams to help build scalable, userfriendly solutions that improve business processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the design, development, and configuration of applications using the Appian lowcode platform
  • Assist in building workflow processes, interfaces, and data models
  • Contribute to testing, debugging, and resolving application issues
  • Work closely with senior developers to learn best practices in Appian development
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation
  • Ensure solutions meet quality, security, and performance standards 

About You

  • Experience with Appian
  • Role requires eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC)
  • Web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript – desirable but not essential)
  • Databases and data concepts (SQL knowledge is a plus)
  • Application lifecycle and development principles
  • Experience working in an Agile or Scrum environment
  • Appian Associate Developer certification (or working towards one)
