About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Document Controller to work for our client within the engineering technology sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a fully office based role that will be based in Shannon.

Our client is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Document Controller to support the compilation, management and completion of project documentation for customer orders. The successful candidate will maintain a complete history of document revisions while supporting Project Engineering, Project Management and Supply Chain functions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous documentation experience in a manufacturing or project-led environment who thrives in a fast-paced and quality-focused setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Review documentation specifications and identify documents relevant to each order
  • Maintain templates and revision history within the documentation management system
  • Resolve documentation queries with inspectors, customers and internal teams
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying documentation issues and corrective actions
  • Gather all required project documentation details, including templates, language and submission requirements
  • Manage submittals, amendments, and translation requirements to meet project timelines
  • Prepare certification documents and support Project Managers with documentation updates
  • Work with shipping and wider project teams to ensure complete documentation packages are delivered

About You

Requirements:
 
  • Previous experience in a document control or documentation-focused role
  • Experience using SAP ERP or a similar system
  • Background in a manufacturing, engineering or project-based environment
  • Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
  • Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Reader and/or Nitro Pro
  • Able to work effectively with internal teams, customers and external stakeholders
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in document control or a related role
