About The Role

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking two apprentices in Applied AI and Automation. This is an 18-month contract and will be based in London with the opportunity to visit our other UK centres in Leeds, Brighton and Glasgow.

This is a great opportunity to build real, practical skills in AI while working in a business. You’ll help teams use AI (including Microsoft Copilot) in their day-to-day work, improve how systems are set up, and support projects that make processes faster and smarter.

You don’t need to be an expert. What matters is that you’re curious, willing to learn, and confident working with people.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a hands-on role where you’ll support teams across the business:

  • You’ll be supporting colleagues to use AI tools like Copilot in their everyday work to build confidence in using AI across the business, promote safe, responsible and ethical use of AI.
  • You’ll spend a lot of your time working on SharePoint, helping to improve and organise the various sites, prepare systems so they’re ready for automation and encourage good practice in how information is stored and shared.
  • You’ll support AI roll-out by helping to introduce AI tools across different departments, spot opportunities where AI could save time or improve work and support teams as they start to use new tools.
  • You’ll be helping to improve systems and processes, help fix problems using AI or simple automations, support staff to build simple workflows, prompts and AI agents, supporting projects that improve how work gets done.
20% of your time will be dedicated to structured learning, attending ADA National Digital College (London). Learning in short, focused sprint blocks every few weeks you’ll develop skills across five projects:

  • Responsible implementation of AI, Automation and Prompting Foundations
  • Process and Automation Tools
  • Low-code Automation
  • AI Augmented Solutions
  • Augmented Work Systems
